This article has nothing to do with sales or business development. It has everything to do with being a parent.
A few days ago, I witnessed a touching moment between a mother and her child—a subtle reminder that life is a series of milestones.
While dropping off my daughter at daycare, I caught glimpse of a mom going through the first-day orientation with her child. She peered through the window, watching intently as her little one adjusted to the new environment. Though I couldn’t see if the child was crying, the mother’s unwavering gaze told its own story.
The daycare staff offered their reassurances, but their words seemed to wash over her—heard but not truly absorbed.
After giving my daughter a kiss and goodbye hug, I walked to my car and noticed the couple standing outside. The mother was in tears and visibly crying, while her partner consoled her. It transported me back to my first time dropping off my daughter. My eyes had grown heavy fighting back tears as she clung to me, reluctant to let go. I remember how difficult it was to walk away and drive home that day.
Now when I drop her off, she bubbles with excitement, eagerly searching for her friends and rushing to claim her favorite puzzles. She’s happy. I wanted to tell that mom it would be okay, that her child would adjust. Though she might have nodded appreciatively, I knew she would need to discover this truth for herself.
I’ve come to realize that as children grow, we must gradually relinquish control to allow them to flourish. Though letting go is challenging, it’s the only path to their growth.
Life is beautiful.
